This lesson teaches the benefits of taking cold showers, such as burning calories, improving sleep, and strengthening the immune system. It also addresses the importance of balancing cold exposure with warmth to avoid getting sick.
The Power of Cold
I'm excited to share a method that burns more calories without taking up any of your time. But first, I want to acknowledge you for being a committed and dedicated individual who takes action to achieve their dream body, unlike those who just talk about it.
The Insanity of Inaction
Many people engage in activities that made them fat and expect to become lean. Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I want to acknowledge your devotion and desire to take massive action to get the body you deserve.
Personal Experience with Cold Showers
Taking cold showers has transformed my life. I started five years ago and haven't missed a day in the last three years. I feel energized, motivated, awake, and alert after each cold shower. It helps me fall asleep quickly and stay up at night to get work done.
Health Benefits of Cold Showers
Cold showers burn calories, even after you're done. I've gotten sick far fewer times since I started taking cold showers, even in winter. Cold exposure strengthens your lymphatic system, which raises your immune system by increasing white blood cells that protect you from diseases.
Precautions and Tips
I don't want you to freeze yourself or shiver all day. Except for summer, you'll never find me without socks on. If your feet and hands are cold for too long, you can get sick. When the environment is cold, blood goes to your trunk area, leaving your limbs cold due to less blood flow.
Alternating Showers: The Best of Both Worlds
I realized there are benefits to hot showers too, like relieving muscle tension and lowering blood pressure. So, I now do alternating showers: hot, then cold for a minute, back to hot, and so on. I always start with hot and end with cold.
Additional Tips for Staying Healthy
Taking cold showers increases your core temperature, burning calories and increasing recovery due to more blood flow.
Going outside in winter with minimal clothes will make you shiver and burn calories, but doing it for too long can make you sick.
Cold showers are different because the water is wet, and dryness is a major reason for a runny nose and sore throat. If you catch a cold, try to be in a moist or humid environment. A humidifier in your room can help tremendously.
